RAISE THE BAR IN READING
FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Because we can.
iRi’s unique READING professional learning programs for Special Needs educators teach how to stimulate those cognitive capabilities that are essential for students’ reading success. Better thinking yields enhanced reading. Better reading yields higher achievement both within and beyond the classroom.
Key components of each program include:
- 14 hours on-site study for districts, schools, or a select group of your educators whom you would like certified as in-house trainers to then directly coaching your teachers internally; teachers may either focus on Special Needs education or interface with students who have Special Needs within their mainstream classroom.
- Instruction by a classroom-experienced, iRi-certified Special Needs Reading Specialist trained in our exclusive literary application of Feuerstein’s cognitive practices to promote proficient and critical readers.
- Strategies to foster collaboration among mainstream and Special Needs teachers to ensure a coherent program that meets RTI guidelines.
- Opportunity to integrate iRi’s cognitive approach into your existing curricula, lesson plans, and standards-based reading materials
- Post-coursework coaching and evaluation of student improvement
