Shannon Almquist

Master Trainer, Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment

Almquist works with schools across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, sharing cognitive-based classroom strategies and teaching tools to foster deeper thinking and better learning among all students .   A classroom teacher for 30 years and one of the pioneers in the use of FIE in both the public and private school setting, Almquist is now a lead iRi consultant.  She has authored the Child Development Associate (CDA) Math Curriculum and Thinking To Write.  

Almquist has developed cognitive-rich integrated curricula, has assisted school boards with infusing Critical Thinking into their strategic plans and implementing it in their classrooms, and has taught graduate students how to teach from the cognitive perspective.  

Almquist’s special interest is sharing cognitive-based learning models with educators and integrating FIE across the curriculum to foster a fully enriched, critical thinking academic environment in which teachers and students can thrive.
