
Sandy Garr
Master Trainer, Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment, Speech & Language
Garr, M.S., CCC-SLP is a nationally acclaimed FIE Trainer and “trainer of trainers”. She has systematically implemented FIE into schools across the Northwest region of the United States and trained teachers and parents in Hawaii, Oregon, and Illinois. Her work includes implementing, managing, and monitoring a decade-long FIE program in Portland, OR, contributing to the body of research on the program’s effectiveness.
Garr’s interest in Feuerstein’s work began in 1987 while specializing in treatment of adolescents with cognitive and language disabilities. While earning her graduate degree, she completed her independent study under the mentorship of a Feuerstein trainer. Garr has received training in the States and in Europe in all levels of Instrumental Enrichment as well as the Learning Propensity Assessment Devise (LPAD), becoming a certified Feuerstein trainer of trainers in 2002. Her professional experience is highlighted by working with students in Pre-K through High School with regular education and special needs populations using Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment Basic and Standard Versions in a variety of settings.
Garr received her M.S., in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Garr has a special interest is promoting the effectiveness of FIE and increasing its accessibility via grant-writing and public awareness.
